Music arrangements (also called charts) are specially prepared forms of sheet music for live performance and studio settings. They’re often used by singers, artists, production shows, cover bands, session musicians, talent quest contestants, cruise ship performers and small to large ensembles. A good arrangement should be clear, accurate, easy to read, well formatted and provide the essential information for each instrument (such as lead lines, stylistic indicators, specific rhythmic phrases, sounds/effects, etc.) whilst also giving the musicians the flexibility to interpret the music with as little reading as possible.
Some songs require lots of very specific notation due to their complex nature or perhaps larger ensemble size, and some only require a very limited amount of notation to effectively convey the music. Add to this each musician’s personal preference of what they like to see on a chart and it becomes clear that arrangement styles are every bit as varied and unique as the number of songs there are in the world. In short, there is no one way to write an arrangement and each song requires an individual approach.
We produce arrangements that are both musically satisfying and visually balanced. Whether it’s an existing chart from our library or a newly commissioned arrangement, we work meticulously to produce quality charts that will become staples in your repertoire.
Although we specialize in 4 & 7 piece arrangements in a variety of popular music styles, we can also create chord charts, lead sheets, master rhythm charts, scores, Nashville number charts, song maps (our own creation for soloists and duos) and more.
